    Note. Chained (2005) dollar series for change in real private invertories are calculated
    as the period-to-period change in chained-dollar end-of-period inventories. Quarterly
    changes in end-of-period inventories are stated at annual rates. Because the formula for
    the chain-type quantity indexes uses weights of more than one period the corresponding
    chained-dollar estimates are usually not additive. Estimates in this table are based on
    the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC).
